We have a clear and present danger in America.

It’s called indoctrination.

I am an avid boxing fan. I recently stumbled across a movie called The Survivor, based on the true story of  Harry Haft, a Holocaust survivor and a boxing legend.

I also am a Jewish convert to Christianity. In my mind Harry’s actions and willpower to survive were clearly just.

Perhaps not so much in the eyes of the modern day ‘Awoke’ crowd.

The movie opens with Harry being separated from his girlfriend.

She was thrown in the back of cattle truck and driven off to a prison camp.

This becomes his motivation to survive multiple unthinkable atrocities.

As the story unfolds it is all too easy to cast judgment on the morals and scruples Harry had to decide upon to survive.

Could you ever imagine ever having the love of your life abducted before your eyes, let alone survive a genocide and fight to reclaim your humanity?

In addition, he experienced and witnessed evil beyond conceivable imagination.

That is the story of Harry Haft, a Polish Holocaust survivor.

He was forced to bare knuckle box against fellow prisoners to survive.

He caught the attention of an SS officer and was forced to fight against his fellow prisoners all for the amusement of his captors or be killed.

If Haft won the fight, his opponent was killed (shot in the head point blank) if he lost, he would be killed.

He endured this and eventually escaped and was able to come to America.

He continued to fight in the boxing ring, but his bout was heavy with the bigger giant and reality of survivor’s guilt.

In an effort to find his lost love he decided the only way was by gaining name recognition. He pursued a fight with Rocky Marciano in hope that his lost love had also escaped and would reunite with him in seeing his name in the headlines

Finding his lost love was his greater prize. It was not about beating Rocky, the greatest opponent at the time.

At the time boxing was a measure of status quo and fortitude more than financial reward compared to today’s standards.

By today’s standards most likely boxing would be labled ‘toxic’ masculinity. (As it pretty much is in 2022.)

Also, this was before the time of pay per-view and modern multi-media tools that exist now.

The biggest name of boxing was Rocky Marciano who would go on to remain undefeated.

Harry's quest for survival was clearly beyond the boxing of winning in the ring.

He went on to lose to Rocky Marciano and discovered that his once lost girlfriend indeed survived but married another. He too was ultimately able to marry another and love again.

The reminder of his life was plagued by the memories and flashbacks. There was no understanding of or treatment for PTSD as we know it.

As his life's battle with PTSD was a bigger giant than Rocky Marciano could ever have been.

So, what does this have to do with the clear and present danger of indoctrination?

We live in a day of age consumed by wokeism, or the misinterpretation thereof.

Awokeness can be a good thing but it when it becomes constantly blurred as it has become a system of thought and behavior characterized by intolerance, policing the speech of others, and proving one’s own superiority by denouncing others.

As this was clearly exemplified in the atrocity of death during the Holocaust.

Consider the reality in recent years of opinions being ‘canceled’ or blocked on social media.

This is ultimately what lead to the greatest atrocity in human history. We must learn from our past.

The Holocaust, (the Hebrew term Shoʾah, Yiddish and Hebrew Ḥurban (which means “Destruction”) is being forgotten and must not repeat in any level shape or form.
The clearly systematic state-sponsored killing of six million Jewish men, women, and children and millions of others by Nazi Germany and its collaborators during World War II is sadly being forgotten (because of its 'violent images') and needs to talked taught about. Much like PTSD has to be talked about.

It often seems that the ‘Awoke crowd’ of today would rather not talk about it and many other issues.

As it seems that toppling of an inanimate object such as a statue is more vindicating?

This is especially so with the modern-day divisive issues and multiple social media platforms; if someone is not  ‘awoke’ enough they are often ostracized and forgotten.

This is essentially what happened in Germany which led to the greatest atrocity of modern times.

We still need in 2022 need to make sure that an atrocity like this never happens again.

Instead of accountability we are plagued by the constant indoctrination schemes of extremists of both the ‘left’ and right’.

In which the media often uses as kindling for their financial bottom-line.

So, what happens when we become intolerant of each other?

The Germans responded and called this “the final solution to the Jewish question.”

The word Holocaust is derived from the Greek holokauston, a translation of the Hebrew word ʿolah, meaning a burnt sacrifice offered whole to God.

This word was chosen because in the ultimate manifestation of the Nazi killing program—the extermination camps—the bodies of the victims were consumed whole in crematoria and open fires.

The warning signs of  such divisiveness in 2022 are very real and present

By the standards of today’s statue toppling and wokeism how do you think Harry should be remembered?
