New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has hit out at the Trump administration's decision to funnel millions of dollars into the creation of its Space Force, while the U.S. still cannot afford "public college or health care."
"The folks writing checks for a new Space Force are the same ones asking 'how are you going to pay for' public college or health care," Ocasio-Cortez said in a statement on Twitter on Sunday.
"This is the richest country in the world. Our problem isn't a lack of money. It's a lack of good priorities. And that is something we can change," she said.
