Earlier in September, the Department of Justice announced that an illegal alien agreed to plead guilty to charges of robbing an American citizen’s identity, using it to vote and acquire a United States passport.

The illegal alien in question, Angelica Maria Francisco, 42, is a Guatemalan national that had been residing in Alabama. She was charged with making false assertions of citizenship related to voting, aggravated identity theft, false statements to apply for a US passport, and the use of a US passport acquired by false statements, the DOJ announced on September 5.

Francisco assumed the identity of an American citizen in 2011 prior to using her false identity to obtain a passport in 2011. She then used the passport to travel to and from Guatemala and the US. In 2021, she used the fake identity to renew the passport and used it to travel from the US to Guatemala in 2022.
