Trump admin again asks Supreme Court to allow mail-in voting order

The Trump administration on Thursday asked the Supreme Court to again allow its mail-in voting rules to take effect for the midterms after a lower court judge issued a nationwide injunction.

The order would require the states to submit mail-in voter lists to the Postal Service, which would then refuse delivery of ballots to recipients not on the list.

The administration filed an emergency appeal on Thursday, asking the Supreme Court to sign off on its implementation, Politico reported.

U.S. District Judge Indira Talwani issued the injunction after the top court voted 6-3 to strike down an earlier injunction on the rules.
