Several of President-elect Donald Trump‘s incoming Cabinet nominees were targeted Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning with bomb threats or were swatted, according to Trump transition spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt.

The nominees “were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those who live with them,” Leavitt said in a statement Wednesday morning.

“These attacks ranged from bomb threats to ‘swatting,'” she continued. “In response, law enforcement and other authorities acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire Transition team are grateful for their swift action.”

Leavitt did not list the names of the Cabinet nominees who were targeted and declined to provide details on who was targeted when contacted by the Washington Examiner.

Trump himself survived two assassination attempts in the final months of the 2024 election. Two days before the start of the Republican National Convention, Trump famously raised his fist onstage at a Butler, Pennsylvania, rally after a would-be assassin’s bullet grazed his ear.
