A Different Pont of View: Nancy Pelosi Calls Iran Deal a Diplomatic Masterpiece -Source--Breitbart- House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) trashed President Donald Trumps diplomatic efforts Tuesday at a summit with North Koreas Kimg Jong-un in Singapore claiming he had conceded too much to the regime. The would-be Speaker of the House also complained that Trump had insulted American allies and sidelined the experts at the State Department. Pelosis full statement as reported by Alex Moe of NBC News is as follows: Nuclear nonproliferation is a pillar of Americas national security. We respect any serious and real diplomatic efforts to achieve that goal on the Korean peninsula. Apparently the President just handed Kim Jong-un concessions in exchange for vague promises that do not approach a clear and comprehensive pathway to denuclearization and non-proliferation. In his haste to reach an agreement President Trump elevated North Korea to the level of the United States while preserving the regimes status quo. The millions of families currently living in fear of nuclear weapons in the region deserve strong and smart leadership built-in diplomacy and engagement with our regional partners and allies. The presidents marginalization of the State Department and his habitual disparaging of our allies as demonstrated at the G7 Forum hinders a lasting stable pathway to peace. Pelosi did not stipulate which concessions Trump had made. The U.S. did not relax sanctions as the Obama administration had with Iran merely to start negotiations and U.S. allies in the region were generally encouraged by the historic the talks. On Tuesday South Korea praised the summit: "The Agreement will be recorded as a historic event that has helped break down the last remaining Cold War legacy on earth. It is a great victory achieved by both the United States and the two Koreas and a huge step forward for people across the world." In 2015 Pelosi called the Iran deal a diplomatic masterpiece." A decade earlier she traveled to Syria to hold talks with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad who later slaughtered hundreds of thousands of his own people. Senate Democrats issued a list of demands last week that they said any agreement with North Korea would have to meet to earn their support. The Iran deal violated every one of them. A Different Point of View: Document signed by Trump and Kim includes four main elements related to peace regime Source-CNBC- The Korean conflict will soon end President Donald Trump said Tuesday following a historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.Adversaries can indeed become friends Trump said. At the end of their historic meeting at the luxury Capella hotel on Singapores Sentosa island the first ever between leaders of the two nations Trump and Kim signed an agreement to work toward complete denuclearization and a lasting peace regime on the Korean peninsula. The document which Trump deemed very comprehensive says the two sides commit to hold follow-up negotiations and to cooperate to develop bilateral relations. Asked about what the agreement meant for North Koreas denuclearization Trump said were starting that process very quickly very very quickly. There was no mention of sanctions in the document but Trump said after the summit those penalties on Pyongyang would remain in place until the menace of nuclear weapons is removed. He also fended off questions about dealing with a dictator of a brutal regime in which dissent is not tolerated and opponents are killed. I think he liked me and I like him Trump told Voice of Americas Greta Van Susteren in an interview. And I understand the past and you know nobody has to tell me hes a rough guy. He has to be a rough guy or he has been a rough person. But we got along very well. Hes smart loves his people he loves his country. He wants a lot of good things and thats why hes doing this. Pressed by Van Susteren about human rights abuses Trump said: Look hes doing what hes seen done if you look at it. But I really have to go by today and by yesterday and by a couple of weeks ago because thats really when this whole thing started. A photo of the document Trump signed revealed that the leaders of the United States and the Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea agreed on these four points: 1. The United States and the DPRK commit to establish new U.S.-DPRK relations in accordance with the desire of the peoples of the two countries for peace and prosperity. 2. The United States and the DPRK will join their efforts to build a lasting and stable peace regime on the Korean Peninsula. 3. Reaffirming the April 27 2018 Panmunjom Declaration the DPRK commits to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula. 4. The United States and the DPRK commit to recovering POW/MIA remains including the immediate repatriation of those already identified..
