(The Blaze) On Thursdays radio program Pat Gray and Stu Burguiere (filling in for Glenn Beck this week) marveled over a recent story about a millennial writer who had a complete meltdown at work while going over edits with her boss. According to the P.J. Media article a communications and public policy executive branding consultant professor writer named Carol Blymire took to Twitter to share the minute-by-minute unfolding of a spectacle in which a 20-something writer shouts cries and ultimately calls her mother (on speakerphone in a common workspace area) all because her boss informed her (gently and politely) that there is no p in the word hamster. Heres the full story as told in Blymires tweets: The boss (also a woman) was giving her feedback and reviewing edits she had made on something this young woman wrote. 6:21 PM · Jul 12 2019·Twitter for iPhone 77 Retweets 1.3K Likes Carol Blymire @CarolBlymire · Jul 12 Replying to @CarolBlymire They had been speaking in low tones but their volume got louder toward the end of the conversation because the young woman was getting agitated about a particular edit. Carol Blymire @CarolBlymire · Jul 12 That particular edit was correcting the spelling of hampster" to hamster". Apparently she had used the phrase like spinning in a hamster wheel" in this draft (presumably) speech or or op-ed. Carol Blymire @CarolBlymire · Jul 12 The young woman kept saying I dont know why you corrected that because I spell it with the P in it." The boss said (calmly) But thats not how the word is spelled. There is no P in hamster." Carol Blymire @CarolBlymire · Jul 12 Young woman: But you dont know that! I learned to spell it with a P in it so thats how I spell it." The boss (remaining very calm and professional) lets go to http://dictionary.com and look it up together. (mind you this is a woman in her late 20s not a 5th grader) Carol Blymire @CarolBlymire · Jul 12 The young woman insists she doesnt need to look it up because its FINE to spell it with a P because thats HOW SHE WANTED TO SPELL IT. Carol Blymire @CarolBlymire · Jul 12 The boss says Lets look over the rest of the piece so I can explain the rest of my edits."
