Muellers Investigation Close To Being Completed Acting AG Says

(Boston Globe) Chris Strohm January 28 2019 WASHINGTON Acting attorney general Matthew Whitaker said Monday that Special Counsel Robert Muellers Russia investigation is close to being completed." I have been fully briefed on the investigation" Whitaker who has authority over Muellers probe said during a news conference. I look forward to Director Mueller delivering the final report." Whitaker also said: I am comfortable that the decisions that were made are going to be reviewed" but it wasnt immediately clear what he meant by that. Peter Carr a spokesman for Mueller declined to comment. Senator Chris Coons Democrat of Delaware said Whitakers statement that decisions made in the investigation would be reviewed is chilling" adding he doesnt have confidence that Whitaker will respect the independence of Muellers probe.
