(Politico) BILL MAHONEY 01/23/2019 11:00 AM New York state voters think that former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg would make the best president among the various state residents considered to harbor national ambitions according to a poll released by Quinnipiac University this morning. A total of 28 percent of respondents preferred Bloomberg among five politicians asked about in the poll. That includes pluralities of Democrats Republicans and independents. Gov. Andrew Cuomo came in second with 17 percent while Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand the only New Yorker besides President Donald Trump to officially launch a 2020 campaign so far received 11 percent. Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was the favorite of 7 percent of respondents. While she wont actually be old enough to run in 2020 that was still more than the 5 percent received by Bill de Blasio Bloombergs successor. Quinnipiac surveyed 929 registered voters from Jan. 16-21 and the numbers have a margin of error of 4.1 points.
