By John Katz Editor The American Dossier At practically every Hollywood event or award show it seems there is no shortage of circus antics in regards to monologue based opinion on politics. Unfortunately in the world of politics lately many are focused on side show antics rather than offering true identity or substance. Cher presented Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi with a VH1 Trailblazer Award. Of course she couldnt resist taking a fashionable swipe at President Trump as she stated When I see Trump spew his hate and tell his gazillion lies I get pissed off and I feel uneasy at the same time. I see Nancy come on TV and I think OK this is all good Nancy is in the house" she added. Why does she not use her celebrity to talk about how all can sit down and unite rather than banter at the bit for TV ratings? Aside from being a captive audience of the circus like testimony from Michael Cohen last week we are destined for the continued path of striking statements from the likes of celebrities. Perhaps both Nancy Pelosi and her colleague Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are too focused on attention from Hollywood celebrities rather than being focused on their job for their constituents. Interestingly both have been in Hollywood spotlight as they are both are calling for the heads within their party that dare to support of any GOP policy. What happened to the spirit of ending gridlock? In a slight glimmer of optimism for bi-partisan dialog Pelosis adversary Chuck Schumer and possible 2020 contender Joe Biden both gave kudos to President Trump for abandoning the summit with Kim Jung Un. Regardless there is no tolerance from a party or politician that does not focus on doing their job and consider compromise. In this day in age we are in much need for a dialog with a platform open to compromise and bi-partisanship. At the very least thats what their constituents expect.
